Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire (February 27, 2010 until Toronto ON). Pointe Claire is an unassuming community situated in the West Island, which is part of Montreal's island. People unfamiliar with the term frequently think that it's a separate island somewhere west of Montreal However, in reality it's a part of the city that's west. West Island is home to all things from Lachine west to the town of Lachine west. Amanda Brugel was born there although her time there was short. Brugel had a childhood in Courtice close to Oshawa located in Ontario. She had a dream to become a professional dancer but due to an explosive development spurt, she exceeded the size of her dancing colleagues. In an article published by Toronto Star, she revealed that she was at 6'1 inches tall. As soon as I was able to outgrow male friends, I quit. Many former dancers turn into acting which is what Brugel did. An instructor in drama at her high school helped push her in the direction she was looking for. She was encouraged to try out for roles in the school's production. She tried out and eventually got the character of Anne of Green Gables. It was the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship led her to York University, where she completed her studies in Theatre and graduated with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts in 2000. For the last twenty years, Brugel's career has seen her appear in over 60 TV and film productions. The most well-known role was the one of Rita (shown beneath) in The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel is the only Canadian actor on the show in Season 1 which was only seen at times.
